Built in 1971 and famously nicknamed the "oasis for salarymen" — a time-warped Showa-era building right by Shimbashi Station with a striking lattice facade. Inside: rows of suit shops, izakayas, kissaten, and a tiny 2F arcade with retro games (Donkey Kong, Tetris, UFO catchers). Highlights from the reel: Kissa Fuji (B1F, since 1971) for a blue Hawaii cream soda, fluffy pancakes or yakisoba under a giant Mt. Fuji mural (separate smoking room); Cattleya (3F) for old-school pizza toast, sandwiches and classic cakes (smoking allowed throughout — expect haze); and a short walk away, Kimuraya Parlour (B1F of Shimbashi Ekimae Building 1, non-smoking) for pudding, coffee jelly and anmitsu. Rumors of demolition keep circulating but the project seems stuck in planning — go while it's still there.
